Edit July 25: One new entry added. Remember, if you're planning on entering, send me a note or reply to this and let me know so I can post your name on here.Edit July 21: Contest Date deadlines changed. Two Judges added.Whether I'm following suit on the contest idea is none of your business! However, the prizes that I'm offering IS your business. Below are the details of the contest.
Contest Details</u>
For years, I have roleplayed Symn, a "krowlyne" (crow/feline mix), but the only attributes of birds that she has are wings. Therefore, this contest is two-fold:
Part One: Character DesignThis part of the contest is all about character design. You must try to design a completely new character from only the premise of "krowlyne". Does she need more feathers? What about her eyes? Is she a pirate, an Egyptian goddess, a sorcereress? It's all up to
YOU.
To help you with this, I've decided to include
Symn's creation description page to help you. This page details how and why Symn because a krowlyne in the first place. If this helps you, great, if not, it's not necessary anyway.
You can design her body, her hair, her clothes, and the way I will roleplay her from now on with this description. Historically, Symn has been a tragically evil character (if you want to know more, you can ask me). The long and short: She lost her daughter and husband in a battle, then became truly evil, building a kindgom for assassins, murderers, liars, adulterers, and theives to come and join an army to take over other kingdoms (mean, ain't it??).
This part should be a
written description that is typed out into neat little sections. It's purposes should be not only for roleplay, but also for other artists that want to replicate her into art. Be as detailed as possible, but don't think I'm asking for some kind of novel. Just get everything in there that you want to show and apply. The second part will cover SHOWING the product.
Anyway...
Part Two: Drawing it out This part and the first part go hand-in-hand. After (or before) creating a description, you will have to draw out exactly what you're talking out. You can do it in portrait if that is your forte, a full body-digital, a sketch, whatever you need to do to get your picture across to the viewers (and the judges). You should make sure that whatever you've included in the drawing is included in the picture and vice-versa.
Optional Char SheetIn addition, though
NOT required is a character sheet. This can
NOT substitute for the actual drawing, so don't ask. This is in case there are details to the jewelry, hair, eyes, fabric detail, her boobs... whatever needs to be more clearly specified. Remember that this is
optional</u>, so if you don't want to do it or don't need to, please don't!
Prizes</u>(As if you cared about anything else!)
1st Place One Portrait Space
Option of one full-color digital/real media drawing (with BG) or a remappable portrait of whatever character they choose
2nd Place One Portrait Space
Option of one partial-color digital/real media drawing (no BG) or a remappable portrait of whatever chatacter they choose
3rd Place Option of one full-body sketch (BW and no BG) or a remappable portrait of whatever character they choose
Now, I know those prizes aren't great, but I only have so much money to spend. That being said, if anyone wants to donate money to this thing, say like $5, that'd really help out on the prizes.
Judges</u>

(Not entering)
At this point in time, I still need judges. If you are a judge, you can still enter, AND WIN. However, you can't judge for your own creation. More details will be disclosed to those wanting to be judges. I only need FOUR judges, so if you want to participate in the judging, better hurry and send me a note!
Entering</u>
To enter, send me a note here on DA. I will post all the names on this journal entry as they are added, as well as noting who I've picked as judges. If you want to join, but don't know if you can complete it on time, send your name in anyway. You don't want to miss the deadline for entering.
